Giant System Chicago & Their Great Little Films

Thursday September 2nd, 2010

giant system chicago veoba

Showing a little love to local endeavors, GIANT SYSTEM CHICAGO is a project based out of, you guessed it, Chicago. Their purpose and primary focus is to “make motion pictures of bands playing their music in their spaces.” Each clip or “episode” is shot live on location in a selected band’s basement, living room, attic, or garage (whatever they utilize for their practice space) and has the band perform one of their songs. Sounds kinda boring, doesn’t it? But the mini-films are so well done, they come across more like high definition concert footage rather than practice space run-throu... Read More

LoLz & Fun From the Early '80s by Das Racist

Thursday September 2nd, 2010

Looking like a hipster Double Dragon; the wise-cracking and LOLz-instigating Das Racist have added some side-scrolling, 8-bit visuals to their song, “Who’s That? Brooown!” The mission? J-Beibz and Jay-z have been forced to bow out of the evening’s show and it’s Das Racist’s job to take the reins! Couple weeks back Mad Decent arrived and threw down its final stop on their travelin’ block party. Here's a quick wrap up w/ a video recap!

Basting in Saturday sun on the cracked pavement that lay between the Hideout and its industrial neighbors, Mad Decent and Jelly came in bearing food, booze, music, and an overall c... Read More

Banksy, who is arguably today’s most famed street artist/prankster, decided to throw another two cents (or quarter) into the whole oil catastrophe/shit show that went down off the Southern coast. Leaping Free Willy-style over a leaking barrel of BP black gold, Banksy installed a coin-operated dolphin ride onto some pier in the English seaside resort town of Brighton. Unfortunately, it looks like the ride’s topical message was lost on the kid though. Can ya blame her? Free rides! Now only if he'd take on those damn helicopter rides at the local Piggly Wiggly....
