The Howl Moon are a Chicago collective of (supposedly) interchanging musicians that create cinematic space jams. Led in production by Anthony Reese with vocals coming from a hair heavy guy that goes by the name Billy Jesus, the group’s druggy celestial breezes get heavy rotation on their just-released four song EP. “Secrets” appears on These Are My Friends, and you can hear it below.

The slow-building track is drenched in reverb and gestating echo, but despite its acid trip vagrancy, the dense synths remind both the vocals and the wanderlust to maintain focus. It’s like the entire 1980s were swallowed up whole and a handful of iridescent constellations got puked up. Download EP for free (or name your price) here.
