1. Is banner advertising necessary? (Back to Top)

Yes and no. You want to build a name and following for your band, right? We realize how competitive it is between the thousands of other bands trying to do something similar. Online/banner advertising lets fans know you exist. Your band’s designs displayed on popular musician-based websites are there to grab listeners’ short attention spans and link them to your music and merch. From there, it leads to them following you on twitter, going to see your concerts, downloading your songs and buying your merchandise. We are getting ahead of ourselves here, but this is what we envision as a result of a successful online ad.

2. How can I spend my advertising budget with the best results? (Back to Top)

As moms always say, spend your money wisely and don’t blow it all on coke and candy. With online advertising, make sure you have the ability to track results. We will provide those numbers to you to check the response and measure what is working. We will do all the required research and display your band’s ads on the sites your fan base visit most but you need to be the one to follow up with those fans who express interest in your music.

3. How many clicks will I get? (Back to Top)

Click rates are affected by where the ad is placed (meaning if it’s relevant to that audience). It also depends on what you place within the advertisement. Fans are less likely to click on an image-only ad. Try drawing them in with something along the lines of “click here” to receive samples of your music, links to creative merch, or sign-up for your newsletter. Always try to offer fans something of value. Always follow up with responses as quickly as you can get to them. We are happy to supply you with these statistics, either weekly, or at the end of your run.

4. What is a banner ad? (Back to Top)

Your banner advertisements should link directly back to your website or landing page. They are the most common type of web advertising. Go to our arts specifications page for a variety of banner size options.

5. Can I have an animated banner ad? (Back to Top)

Yes. Your banner ad can be static, flash or an animated gif.  Animated gifs can be up to three frames and either loop or freeze on the last frame.

6. Who can help me create an ad? (Back to Top)

You can create your ad and email it directly to online.ads@veoba.com or our design team will create an ad based on your instructions. We will email you a proof of the finished ad. The fee is $75 per hour, with a minimum of ½ hour billable time. If you would like us to create your ad, you will need to send us any logos, text, and images you want to include in the ad.

7. What happens when a listener clicks on my ad? (Back to Top)

You can link the ad directly to any live link/video (i.e., your music or merchandise). Decide the route you think would be best for your band. If you already have a decent following and prefer to focus more energy on selling merch, include highlights/specials in the ad and link it to merch. Decide which option is best for your band’s specific needs.

8. How will I be billed? (Back to Top)

It depends on the length of your band’s campaign. They range from at least 2 weeks to over a month. Visit our campaigns page for pricing information. Contact us if you plan on running an online ad for over 4 weeks.
